Yes! Industry-standard CAD benchmarks show AutoCAD 2000i to be faster than AutoCAD 2000 for common operations. The AutoGauge Benchmark, developed by the Autodesk User Group International (AUGI®) shows AutoCAD 2000i running from 6 to 38 percent faster on the same hardware. File I/O performance is up by 29 percent, display performance is up by 39 percent, osnap performance is up by 24 percent, and property alterations operations performance is up by 23 percent. For even more speed, AutoCAD 2000i now supports multiprocessor computers. On a dual-processor machine, AutoCAD 2000i is 30 percent faster than AutoCAD 2000 on the same machine. Naturally, your own machine may give different results from these averages.

For the first time AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT® share a common code base and have parallel development schedules, allowing Autodesk to ship these products within two weeks of each other (English version only). With the exception of features like selective redo and undo, AutoCAD 2000i has incorporated most of the features in AutoCAD LT 2000i.
